Bomb factory unearthed, two arrested in Assam

An illegal bomb-making factory was unearthed and a 10-kg IED was recovered with two persons arrested in separate incidents in Assam's Dhubri district.

DHUBRI (Assam): An illegal bomb-making factory was unearthed on Monday and a 10-kg IED was recovered with two persons arrested in separate incidents in Assam's Dhubri district.
    
Troops of 21 Jat Regiment busted the factory at Angarkata and arrested Shahjahan Ali for alleged involvement in manufacturing crude bombs.
    
A powerful five-kg crude bomb, 40 metres of steel coil, 70 metres of jute flax, one-and-a-half kg of nails, 500 gm of explosives, huge quantity of glass shards, petrol, five battery cells and an axe.
    
The bomb manufactured here were supplied to militant and jihadi groups, the sources claimed.
    
Meanwhile, a 10-kg IED fitted with a timer and kept in a steel box was recovered at Golagaon station from the house of Muslim Ali who has been arrested.
