KOTA: The Muslim Congress Forum, a group affiliated to the Congress, has sought proportional representation from the Grand Old Party to contest the Assembly polls in the state.

Speaking here on Monday, Forum president A A Khan Durru Mian said the MCF has identified 30 seats for the Assembly and seven for Lok Sabha to be contested by members of the minority committee this year and the next.

"Four of the 16 Muslim candidates given tickets by the party in the last Assembly election got elected. If more seats were alloted to the community a larger number of its representatives would have been elected," the leader said.

MCF acting president Mahir Azad said he hoped the Congress would allot at least 20 Assembly seats to members of the minority community during this election.
