MUMBAI: Breaking his silence on Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray's attack on him, superstar Amitabh Bachchan has dismissed his charges that he did more for Uttar Pradesh than Mumbai saying they did not "deserve any attention".

"Random charges are random; they do not deserve the kind of attention you wish me to give," Bachcan said in an interview to a local tabloid.

The actor was responding to a query on the impact of the MNS chief's charge on the actor and his family, more than a month and half after Raj had attacked Bachchan.

The actor said "this is a free country and every individual enjoys the liberty of free speech. The law of the land and its Constitution are supreme. Every Indian should be affected by that".

Raj had said that although Bachchan made fortunes by staying in Mumbai he had done more for UP than this metropolis or Maharashtra.
