Tulip IT Services bags project worth Rs 57.72 cr

Tulip IT Services, provider of end-to-end data connectivity, on Thursday said it has secured a project worth Rs 57.72 crore from Assam State Wide Area Network.

MUMBAI: Tulip IT Services, provider of end-to-end data connectivity, on Thursday said it has secured a project worth Rs 57.72 crore from Assam State Wide Area Network.
    
The project would include supply and installation of network equipment across the state, as well as operation and maintenance of the project for a period of 5 years, it said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
    
The network to be installed would support data, voice and video, helping the state in the implementation of e-governance initiatives.
    
Also, it would provide a unified communication platform that integrates databases of various government departments on a single network.
    
"Setting up of SWAN will allow the citizens access to information in real time and will bring about greater transparency and efficiency in delivering government services in the state," Tulip IT Services' Chairman and Managing Director H S Bedi said.
    
"Our previous experiences in Haryana and West Bengal will help us in ensuring successful implementation of the project," Bedi said.
    
The company supports various e-governance projects in rural India and has implemented the Akshaya Project for the Kerala Government. It is presently implementing Haryana and West Bengal SWAN Projects.
    
Shares of the company closed at Rs 1,117.60, up 3.62 per cent, on BSE.
