Three isn’t a crowd in Goa capers

MUMBAI: With the year’s end approaching, businesses in Mumbai are flourishing, and the sex business is no different. Gigolos and ‘escorts’ are in demand. According to an estimate, the number of calls the people in this profession are receiving has gone up fourfold.

“I am taking at least 100 calls daily from my customers,” says Vikram Sharma, 24, who has been working as an escort for the past year. A growing trend among married couples is to hire gigolos and male escorts.

Sharma says the culture of ‘swinging’ (married couples swapping partners or experimenting with multiple partners) is growing, so people don’t mind hiring an escort or a gigolo.

These couples form groups and hire a couple of gigolos and take them to places like Goa, Lonavla, and Nashik. There, they hire a large flat or a farmhouse. In a common room, they watch pornographic films  or engage in group sex. Or the women have sex with the gigolos while the husbands get their jollies watching them.

“I enjoy life on my terms and my husband doesn’t mind,” says 30-year-old  Anjali Gupta (not her real name) a bank employee and a veteran of four sex sessions.

“The first time I found out that I was expected to have sex with a lady in front of her husband, I was very scared,” says Sharma. “But he enjoyed it and forced us to do certain things.” Sharma says most of the swinging couples are from the middle- and upper-middle classes, and in the age group of 35-50 years.
