A festive swing

Roll call begins for all the crazy music festivals this season

While the city will settle into the festival mode with Parvati Baul and the all the faraway Sufi artistes weaving the exotic music around Horniman Circle, November onwards the festival season will spread to the country. The Jazz Utsav which is also happening in and around the same time is the most awaited for all the jazz lovers (the festival dates of these two might clash as always.)

The Indian Electronica Festival will be a big pull this year end with artistes such as Talvin Singh and Trans Global Underground expected to make appearances. The swing will lead on to early next year when Goa will witness two festivals. The Big Chill which is a three day music, art and relaxation festival like last year is expected to draw some big names; the talks are still on.

Another addition is the PDM Entertainment & Smirnoff Sunburn Festival (dance festival) which is a highlight this year; the fest kicks off in Goa from December 27-28 onwards and goes on till January 2-3 and features a long list of artistes from all around the world. Some of them include Above & Beyond (Anjunabeats UK), Axwell (Axtone Sweden), John 00 Fleming (J00f recordings UK), Arno Cost & Norman Doray (Serial records France), Sergio Flores (Defected Austria), DJ Pearl (Submerge India) and Jaytech (Anjunabeats Australia).
