COIMBATORE: Doctors in the Government Hospital here have successfuly removed a toothbrush stuck in a man's throat.

The six-inch-long brush accidentally slipped and got stuck in the throat when 60-year-old Ramasamy, a plantation worker, was brushing his teeth on Sunday morning, a senior doctor in the Hospital said on Wednesday.

Narrating the incident to his wife, Ramasamy complained of severe throat pain. He was taken to the Pollachi Government hospital, from where he was referred to Coimbatore, Dr Kumaran, Dean (in-charge) of the Hospital said.

After carrying out endoscopy,the doctors located the brush and removed it carefully, without damaging the windpipe or tearing the tissues, Kumaran said.
