After Hours chats up with American Stacy Kerzner, who along with her husband Dan, has set up the website www.trendy.in targeting Mumbai’s trendy women.

The story is attention grabbing: Americans Stacy and Dan Kerzner visit India, get excited by the metropolitan culture and decide to start the web site www.trendy.in targeting  women living and working in the cities.

“My husband visited China while he was doing his MBA and that sort of lead to a trip to India. The retail space in the country really excited us. When I went along with him on one of his trips to India, I made observations and the impression we had lead us to start the site,” explains Stacy.

The site includes everything from beauty, fashion, books, films to art and culture in the city - all presented in a manner catering to a working woman’s quick read cravings.

“Our main idea is to keep the articles short and punchy and give the women their daily indulgences. We send an email everyday on something we are passionate about to our subscribers,” smiles Stacy.

Stacy used to work for the programming department at Discovery channel and has been in the media for the last nine years.

Quiz her about the research and network that went into setting up the site and she cites it as an interesting experience.

“We became a part of the community; it was good fun to study the nature of the city - people stuck in traffic for three hours and women who work six days a week and have an energetic social life as well,” she laughs.

Terming the site as funky, stylish and sophisticated, the duo now plans to activate a site specifically to Bangalore as well. “We want it to become a daily indulgence for the women,” she ends.
