Tuesday night saw Sourav Ganguly bonding with SRK as the latter handed over the reigns of his IPL team to the captain

After paying nearly Rs 300 crore to get the franchisee of the Kolkata team of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Shah Rukh Khan sat down and discussed the final team line-up with his captain Sourav Ganguly on Tuesday night.

The meeting reportedly took place at SRK’s bungalow Mannat in Bandra. The meeting apparently was held to finalise the team line-up for Kolkata, which Ganguly wants to be ‘balanced’ (read not too many ‘stars’).

The highlight of the dinner date was King Khan expressing complete confidence in Ganguly and handing over the reigns of the Kolkata team to him. “The two kept talking till late night and SRK made it clear that Ganguly would have his complete confidence regarding the team’s administration,” said a source.

Since, SRK would be away most of the time because of his shooting schedules,  Ganguly would seemingly be the king and will take all decisions on SRK’s behalf.

Ganguly also briefed SRK about the controversy with Bengal’s sports minister Subhash Chakraborty where the latter had demanded a fixed quota of  tickets if any of the matches were to be played at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

“It was decided that Ganguly would offer a fixed sum to the sports department in lieu of tickets. If the government was not willing to accept this offer, then Ganguly would offer 20 % of the available tickets for the matches to West Bengal’s Sports Ministry. SRK was happy with the arrangement,” the source added.
