Higher education is in flux: Governor

KOTTAYAM:  Higher education is in a state of flux everywhere and the world today is characterised by the phenomenal growth of information and communication technology, Kerala Governor R L Bhatia said on Saturday.

Inaugurating the silver jubilee celebrations of Mahatma Gandhi University here, the Governor said "the country has more than 18000 odd colleges catering to around 50 lakh aspiring youngsters."

"We should keep pace with the rapid changes sweeping the world over in the fields of assimilation and dissemination of knowledge", he said.

Bhatia said it is hard to choose the right course of study as well as its methodology from among various options.
   
The Governor also inaugurated two projects, Centre For English Language and Communication skills and Training for Skill Generation and Management of Intellectual Property Rights.
