Son batters mother to death

NAWADA: A 70 year-old woman in Bihar's Nawada district was battered to death by her son for telling her relatives that he was not treating her well and was not even providing her a new saree, police sources said on Wednesday.
    
Kalawati Devi, mother of Mahendra Chaurasia of Tola village told her relatives that her son was not providing her
adequate food and daily use items and rather treating her as slave, sources said.
    
She also showed them that her lone saree was in tatters but still she was not given a new saree.
    
As Mahendra came to know about it last night, he flew into rage and pounced on his mother and allegedly battered her
to death.
    
The severity of the assault was such that her eyes came out of the socket and her hand broke into two pieces.
    
Mahendra and his wife were soon arrested and sent to judicial custody in Nawada jail.
