I reached Cuffe Parade, heading towards World Trade Centre, on my way to Flamboyante, the courtyard restaurant and lounge bar.

The atmosphere is cool with the mist fans on, the aroma of fresh pizzas and kathi rolls filling the air and then and then of all the things I see designer earrings and accessories, couture line, exclusive candle collection, modish collection of handbags and shoes… all this and more at the Flamboyante restaurant!

Yes you heard it right; Midnite Bazaars are happening in Mumbai and seems this trend is here to stay. "The concept of midnite bazaar is very popular all over the world.

They are especially recurrent in Dubai, Bangkok, Hong Kong and even UK. All kinds of people attend such bazaars" says Niralee Shah who has put together the concept Nite Bazaar.

The whole idea of having the bazaar is to combine the experience of shopping and dining. The atmosphere is fun loving and casual where you can spend time together and chill as well as shop.

As Amrish Arora the owner of the restaurant Flamboyante rightly puts it, "After a long tiring day at work, the couples usually just go out, dine and return. Here the women can do shopping in a very different ambiance and the men can enjoy their glass of wine."

So the nite bazaars basically are more interactive and entertaining as well than the regular bazaars or exhibitions that we have. And it's a good move for creative women entrepreneurs who work from home.

Such events give them publicity and exposure, and they get s chance to interact with lot of potential clients. Some of the stalls that are displayed at Flamboyante are bags by Meera Madhavia and Shaan Khanna, clothes by Niralee Shah, home accessories by Shalini Arora, Archana Kejriwal and many others.

Amisha Khanna is showcasing her new summer line collection of jewelry here. She says that such concepts should be encouraged.

"This is the first time that I have exhibited my collection at South Mumbai. Though I have exhibited at Olive restaurant which has a similar concept called the Midnite Market."

So is this trend here to stay? Why not? Enjoying a good meal and drinks and shopping all this under one roof. So will such events be as popular as they are the Ingo's ware festival in Goa?

The nite market happens during the months of November to April is dedicated to promoting original designers and unique products of high quality, as well as natural materials and organic products.

Shalini Arora, Director of Fountain Hospitality Pvt Ltd who had a stall of household items and wife of Amrish Arora says that they plan to have wine and food bazaars in future. Amrish Arora says it would be great to make this a biannual event.
