We go into the best-of-three finals with an all win record. Though the unbeaten run in the tournament is a big confidence booster, it also puts added pressure on the team as the games progress.

Accepted that reaching the top is difficult, but staying there is even bigger challenge and I would be lying if I say that we do not feel the pressure. In fact, all our effort would have been in vain had we not managed to keep our nerves after Lance Klusener’s onslaught in the semifinals. It was a very difficult game but we somehow scraped through.

And now the pressure is all the more on us going into the finals. We had defeated Hyderabad Heroes by nine wickets in the league matches but history means nothing in sports and in Twenty20 its all the more redundant as one moment of madness or genius can change the course of the game.

If we take the Heroes lightly that will be like digging our own grave. They have a battery of players who can change win the match single handedly and given the way the team has performed after that debacle is a proof of their tenacity and team spirit.

Both teams will like to finish off the best-of-three finals in two games since going into the decider will be a nerve-wracking experience and we for sure would not want to stretch it that far. We are aware that we are the favourites to win the title and all the players are determined to go home with the second edition trophy in their first outing.

The biggest strength of the team has been that they have played in many pressure matches before this and that should turn the tide in our favour.
