Fresh production warrant against Abu Salem issued

BHOPAL: A fresh production warrant was issued on Monday against extradited underworld don Abu Salem by a local court in a fake passport case.
    
Chief Judicial Magistrate Ajay Shrivastava issued the warrant for production of Salem during next hearing scheduled in his court on March 7.
    
The judge had earlier issued a warrant directing him to remain present for the hearing. Salem was not produced before the court today. Salem, his wife Sameera Jumani, former bollywood actress Monica Bedi and two others were booked for procuring passports on basis of forged documents in 2002.
    
The passports were allegedly procured for Salem, Sameera and Monica in the names of Danish Baig, Sameena Baig and Faujia Usmani, respectively.
    
Monica, who along with Salem was extradited from Portugal, was earlier acquitted by the court in the case, while the underworld don was lodged in a jail in Mumbai.
