NAGPUR: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Saturday cancelled his visit to Gondia district in Maharashtra, official sources said.
"The Prime Minister's visit has been cancelled and he is flying back to Delhi from Pune directly," Pankaj Gupta, Additional Director General of Police (Anti-naxalites operation), said from Gondia.
Singh was to lay the foundation stone of the Rs 8,000-cr 1,980 MW super thermal power station at MIDC in Tiroda in Gondia district later in the day.
Besides, he was also scheduled to lay the foundation stone for the Rajiv Gandhi Flying Training Academy, of Airports Authority of India at Birsi airport in Gondia, official sources added.
