NEW DELHI: Go Air, India's smart airline, launched its novel flexible pricing plan on Wednesday, allowing a passenger to change his date of travel and re-book his ticket free of cost

Under the new package, called GoFlexi Fare, the passenger has the flexibility to make unlimited changes in his travel itinerary without the levy of rescheduling charges.

As part of the package, GoAir also slashed the cancellation charges to Rs 200 on all GoFlexi bookings.

The GoFlexi bundle, launched under the umbrella of 'GoSurprizes', allows cancellations or rescheduling to be made up to two hours before the scheduled departure time.

Making the announcement, GOAir Managing Director Jeh Wadi said: "A passenger booked under GoFlexi Fare will not be charged the transaction fee applicable for re-booking a confirmed GoAir ticket. He will only have to pay the difference in fare amount between the original booked fare and the applicable fare of the revised booking."

"In case, the new fare is lower than the originally booked fare, the difference will be retained in the passengers’ credit account with the airline for use within six months period,"  Wadia said in a press release.

With the launch of GoFlexi, passengers booking a GoAir ticket can choose from two fare plans -- GoSave and GoFlexi.

While GoFlexi Fare is designed to offer a bundle of additional benefits, GoSave Fares will retain the existing pricing profile.

The announcement comes on the heels of a massive expansion programme of flight operations undertaken by GoAir in November 2007.

"Passengers availing the GoFlexi fares can now be assured of enhanced connectivity as our new schedule provides increased flights in the 11 destinations that we operate in."

"We have also added the morning, afternoon and evening connections in Mumbai and Delhi to link the two metro cities to key business and leisure destinations like Bangalore, Goa, Hyderabad and Chennai as part of our flight operations strategy," Mr Wadia said.

The airline expects GoFlexi Fares to contribute 10 per cent in revenue growth during the current year.

Backed by augmentation in flight operations and a smart pricing strategy, the airline has been recording highest load factors in the Indian aviation industry since March 2007.

It has been recording average load factors of about 83 per cent.

Moreover, the airline’s market share has jumped to 4.2 per cent.

The airline currently operates across 11 destinations-- Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Mumbai, Cochin, Delhi, Goa, Hyderabad, Jammu, Jaipur, Chennai and Srinagar.
