NEW DELHI: A court here on Monday asked CBI to provide a copy of the chargesheet to `choole-bhature' vendor Ashok Malhotra, alleged mastermind in multi-crore rupees Molarband land scam case, by Tuesday afternoon and deferred the hearing on his bail.

Special Judge S K Kaushik, considering the plea of Malhotra, said that he should be supplied with a copy of the chargesheet and deferred the hearing on his bail application for December 12.

The counsel, appearing for the probe agency, told the court that he would ensure that Malhotra and other accused get a copy of the chargesheet.

The order came after Mohit Mathur, counsel for Malhotra, pleaded that "he be supplied with a copy of the chargesheet so that he can make further submissions to CBI reply".

The counsel for other accused also submitted that they would make their submissions only after receiving the chargesheet.

Apart from Malhotra, DDA's Deputy Director Sumer Chand Garg, businessman Ashok Jain, Deputy Director of MCD S N S Sidhu, canteen manager Ravinder Singh Sandhu, MCD clerk Atul Vasisth, senior MCD officials A K Mishra and Phillip Toppo have been named as accused in the case.

Malhotra was arrested on August six this year from a private news channel studio in Noida for allegedly hatching a criminal conspiracy with five DDA officials to fraudulently acquire plots, meant for resettlement of slum dwellers during between 2000 and 2002.
