BANGALORE: Yuvraj Singh made a flamboyant 169 and Sourav Ganguly is still batting at stumps on 125 and their 300 runs fifth wicket is the second highest in Test cricket and it helped India post a mammoth 365 for five against Pakistan on the first day of the third an the final Test here Saturday.

The 300-run partnership between Ganguly and Yuvraj was behind only to the 322-run stand between Brian Lara and Jimmy Adams for West Indies against Australia at Kingston in 1998-99.

Other statistical highlights of opening day's play are as follows:

*Sachin Tendulkar has now missed 12 Tests.

*Ranjan Madugalle became the first to complete a century of Tests as a match referee.  Clive Lloyd (53) and John Reid (50) are the next two in the list.

*Yuvraj Singh (169 off 203) posted his career-best Test score.  All his three Test centuries have come against Pakistan.

*Ganguly (125 not out) posted his 15th Test hundred - his second against Pakistan. For the third time in his career, he has recorded two centuries in a Test series - the previous two instances being vs. England in England in 1996 (on debut at Lord's and Trent Bridge) and vs. Sri Lanka in India in 1997-98.

*Rahul Dravid (19) has maintained his batting average (18.40) below 20 at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in six Tests. Only once in ten innings, he managed to cross 25 - 60 vs. Australia in 2004-05.

*Mohammad Sami claimed his first wicket in the series after bowling 69.3 overs, conceding 266 runs - his victim being Gautam Gambhir.

*The 300-run stand between Ganguly and Yuvraj is the best ever fifth wicket partnership at this venue, obliterating the 164 between Jacques Kallis and Lance Klusener for South Africa against India in 1999-00.

*The aforesaid stand is India's highest for the fifth wicket against Pakistan, bettering the 200 between Sandeep Patil and Ravi Shastri at Faisalabad in 1984-85.

*The 300-run partnership is now India's highest for any wicket at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, surpassing the 176 (unbroken) for the first wicket between Sunil Gavaskar and Anshuman Gaekwad against Pakistan in 1983-84.

*The 365 run scored by India is the highest ever in a day's play at this venue, eclipsing the 339 for 3 against Sri Lanka on the first day of the 1993-94 Test.

*Overall, the aforesaid score is India's fourth best in a day's play - India's highest in a day's play is 372 for 7 on the first day of the Bloemfontein Test against South Africa in 2001-02.
