NEW DELHI: Ace shooter Anjali Bhagwat said the forthcoming Asian Championships at Doha would be crucial for Indian shooters in the run-up to the Beijing Olympics next year.

"The Asian championship is crucial for us. It will be the last chance to set everything in order. For the shooters who have not qualified for the Olympics, it will be the last opportunity," the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna said.

Anjali said her preparations for the mega event were on the right track and the presence of a coach would help the shooters a lot.

"It's a busy schedule before the Olympics. The Asian Championships, then the nationals, the European tour and four World Cups. The good thing is this time there is a coach. Last time we did not have one."

Anjali said she needed to work hard to get into groove in her event -- three position.

"Things are a bit tricky in my event. Since it's an outdoor event, factors like weather and wind play an important part in your performance. Besides, you have to shoot in different positions," she said.
