Two brothers beaten up in road rage incident

NEW DELHI: In yet another reported case of road rage in the capital, two businessmen-brothers were allegedly beaten up by two inebriated youths in Cantonment area in the capital over the issue of overtaking.
    
The incident took place at around 9:15 pm last night near Kirby Place traffic signal when the motorcycle-borne youths had an argument with Mayank and Mohit Jain, the businessmen, over the issue of overtaking, police said on Monday.
    
The youths were identified as Dinesh Sharma and Daniel, taxi drivers working in a five-star hotel in the capital.
    
In a fit of rage, the youths allegedly attacked the brothers with helmets.
    
Both the parties then went to the police station where Dinesh and Daniel were found 'drunk' and arrested, police said.
    
Mayank and Mohit, residents of Daryaganj who suffered injuries, were taken to Safdarjung Hospital from where they were discharged after first aid.
    
A case has been registered and further investigations are on.
    
With the capital witnessing a spurt in road rage cases recently, the Delhi Government had held a high-level meeting to evolve mechanism to check the occurance of such incidents last month.
    
A mini-bus driver had allegedly hit a woman with an iron rod in full public view following an altercation over rash driving.
    
In September, a Chandigarh-based lawyer was beaten up my unidentified bikers after the former's car hit one of them in south Delhi.
