BANGALORE: Seeking to step up pressure, the BJP in Karnataka said on Friday MLAs belonging to the party and JD(S) would launch a sit-in demonstration here from Saturday till the combine gets an invitation from the Governor and was considering parading the legislators before President Pratibha Patil.

Taking strong objection to Governor Rameshwar Thakur not sending his final report to the Centre even seven days after the combine staked claim to form the government, BJP state President D V Sadananda Gowda blasted Congress leaders for 'putting pressure' on Thakur to recommend dissolution of the assembly.

"The conduct and behaviour of Congress leaders suggest that their pressure tactics have succeeded", Gowda charged.

While the Centre acted on the Governor's recommendation to impose President's rule 'within hours', it was dragging its feet now on the issue of facilitating the BJP-JDS combine form the government, he said.

The delay in extending an invitation to the combine has raised grave suspicion, he said, alleging the "Congress hidden agenda" was responsible for it.

In an indirect attack on the Governor, he asked why Thakur has not sent a full report. "If he (the Governor) needed any clarification in the context of our strength, he could have sought it from us", Gowda said.

According to him, BJP and JD(S) are expected to take a decision on Saturday on taking their MLAs to New Delhi to parade them before the President.

On the 12-point guideline on government formation sent to BJP President Rajnath Singh by JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda, he said the matter would be dealt with by Singh.
