LONDON: The legendary actor-cum-producer Dev Anand was cynosure of all eyes at the famous Indian restaurant Sitaaray, which itself is unique with its walls adoring framed photos and film posters of Bollywood heroes and heroines.

At a function honouring the ever-green film star, who is here in connection with launch of his autobiography 'Romancing With Life', Mahendra Kaul -- the first NRI to be honoured with the Order of British Empire -- lauded outstanding achievements of the legendary actor.

"Dev has done so much for the Bollywood which no other actor has done. There have been so many heroes in our film industry but none has been so great, so innovative and always carrying a message to the people," Kaul said.

Citing an example, Kaul asked who could have had the guts to introduce the song 'Dum maro dum' in the film 'Hare Krishna Hare Ram'.

Dev Anand appreciated the efforts of Kaul and India's Old World Hospitality in trying to project Bollywood and its stars through the restaurant which has become a "must see attraction in London".

He also signed a large portrait of his which will go on display at the restaurant.

Dev Anand was accompanied by Monika Kapil Mohta, Director of the Nehru Centre and Kartar Lalvani, Chief of the Vitabiotics.
