KOLKATA: Slovak tennis star Daniela Hantuchova on Sunday showered praise on Indian doubles ace Mahesh Bhupathi, saying she admired him the most of all her mixed doubles partners.

"The first time I practised with him, I thought why this guy is not playing singles. He is a great player and amongstall my mixed doubles partners, I admire him the most," said the world number 11.

Bhupathi partnered Hantuchova to the 2005 US Open title, and the duo has regularly played together in various Grand Slam meets since then.

"I have won four mixed doubles titles with four different partners but I had the most fun playing with him. You only team up four times a year for mixed doubles and it is important that you enjoy the game and also the time with your partner on the court."

Bhupathi was also forthcoming in showering encomiums on the beautiful girl, twice adjudged world's sexist women tennis player by the ACE magazine.

"Since she won the Wimbledon with Leos Friedl in 2002 all the guys wanted to play with her. I had to wait for a long time and eventually we ended up playing together," he said.

The Slovak indicated that it was Bhupathi who had asked her to partner him.

"I don't remember asking anybody to play mixed doubles with me," she said.
