Businessman found dead in Delhi

A 60-year-old businessman from Bangalore, who was on his way to Mata Vaishnodevi shrine in Jammu, was found dead in a room at the National Sport Club of India, police said on Monday.

NEW DELHI: A 60-year-old businessman from Bangalore, who was on his way to Mata Vaishnodevi shrine in Jammu, was found dead in a room at the National Sport Club of India, police said on Monday.

V I K Sood, who deals with medical equipments in Bangalore, was staying at the NSCI as a guest of Delhi Congress MLA Subhash Chopra's daughter Pooja Bahri, who has a membership in the elite club.

He was found lying unconscious last morning by the club staff after a driver, who came to take him to Mata Vaishnodevi shrine, informed that he was not responding.

Police was informed and the staff opened the door using duplicate keys to find Sood lying unconscious on the bed, investigators said.

He was rushed to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital where he was declared brought dead.

The room in which the businessman was staying was sealed and further investigations were on, police said.

The body has been sent for post mortem, they said adding investigations were on.
