Mobile phone battery explodes, no injuries

RAISEN: The battery of a mobile phone allegedly exploded today while being charged at a shop in Begumganj, around 80 kms from here, police said.

According to the police complaint lodged by Vicky Jain, the battery of his cellphone Nokia 1100 exploded while he was charging it at his electrical appliance shop, Begumganj police station in-charge Mangal Singh Thakre said.

However, no one was injured but several pieces of furniture, including a showcase, were damaged in the explosion, he added.
