A gang of masked burglars is terrorising Victoria and David Beckham’s (top) new Beverly Hills neighbourhood, reports the Daily Star.

The crooks have already bagged more than £3.5million worth of jewellry, art and cash in raids on more than 70 homes. And there are fears the Beckhams’ £11m mansion could be next.

Victims include Duran Duran star John Taylor, 47, and Oscar-winning Exorcist director William Friedkin.Their haul is also believed to include £250,000 in cash and jewellry from the mansion of LA Clippers basketball ace Cuttino Mobley.

The LA Police Department is on high alert over the crimewave and has been patrolling the wealthy neighbourhoods in unmarked cars. Worried celebs have been installing state-of-the-art surveillance.

Many are locking up their cash and valuables at banks. Most of the ransacked homes are in Beverly Hills, Bel Air or Holmby Hills.

A senior police source was quoted as saying: “This gang clearly do their homework and are sure to have noted the Beckhams’ arrival. David and Victoria would be an obvious target for them.”

Police believe the gang has at least two or three members and plans its raids in meticulous detail. Beckham moved to Los Angeles in July, after he signed for the football club LA Galaxy, that plays in the US Major League Soccer (MLS).

Beckham has earlier played for the Spanish club Real Madrid and English side Manchester United before that.
