NEW DELHI: Railways Minister Lalu Prasad on Tuesday opposed "sex education" for children in schools, saying it was having a bad impact on them as also destroying Indian culture.

"Whatever information is being given about sex is having bad impact on children. It is not good. This also has bad impact on society," Prasad told reporters when asked to comment on the move in this regard.

Asked specifically whether he favoured providing sex education to children, the RJD chief said, "No, not at all. This is a very bad thing. Our entire culture can collapse".

The Railways Minister was responding to mediapersons on the sidelines of a press conference at Rail Bhawan where he launched an Integrated Train Enquiry System.
