ISLAMABAD: The captured head of the Lal Masjid has disclosed the identity of his "friends" relating to some banned militant groups amidst reports that members of the outlawed Jaish-e Muhammad may be inside the besieged mosque.

Maulana Abdul Aziz, who was captured three days ago while attempting to flee from the mosque wearing a burqua, revealed the identity of these "friends" when he was quizzed by investigators, 'The News' daily reported on Saturday.

He was carrying Rs 2.42 lakh and 20 Saudi riyals when he was caught, it quoted an official who was part of the team interrogating him as saying.

The captured cleric was the father figure of the institutions run by the mosque while his brother Abdul Rashid Ghazi, who has vowed to fight till death, was the real administrator of the Lal Masjid and used to devise strategies to build pressure on authorities, the official quoted Maulana Aziz as telling investigators during questioning.

Aziz said Ghazi was the one who decided on action plans, including the raid on the Chinese massage parlour and abduction of six Chinese women and a man.

"My brother Rashid Ghazi and wife Umme Hassaan used to make raiding plans on the massage centres, brothel houses and other un-Islamic businesses being run in the federal capital, while my daughters Tayyaba Dua alias Hamna Abdullah and Asma Dua took practical part in the raids," Aziz was quoted as saying.

"Tayyaba and Asma were commanding the raiding party that kidnapped Aunty Shamim (who was accused of running a prostitution racket) with her daughter, daughter-in-law and grand-daughter and nine people, including seven Chinese and two Pakistanis, during a raid on Chinese Massage Centre," he said.
