SIRSA: Three followers of Dera Sacha Sauda, who are on fast to protest alleged atrocities on them by Sikhs in neighbouring Punjab, were forcibly shifted removed by authorities on Friday to a hospital.

The three followers Suraj Bhan, Ram Sharan and Rampat, who had commenced the fast on Thursday, were immediately replaced by three more followers of the Dera which alleged that the local district administration was using force to end their peaceful protest here to seek an end to the "atrocities" against them in Punjab.

The district administration had yesterday evicted nine Dera followers from the protest spot. A Dera release said the district administration had booked the protestors for attempting suicide.

The Dera chief Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh is in conflict with the Sikh clergy for allegedly wearing attire similar to the one worn by Sikh Guru Gobind Singh.

The alleged blasphameous act by the Dera head had sparked violent protests by Sikhs in Punjab two months ago.
