The Malad police have filed a non-cognisable offence against television actor Shweta Tiwari’s husband Raja Chaudhary on Sunday, for allegedly misbehaving with a woman journalist from a private news channel.
Raja was being interviewed by mediapersons regarding charges of physical abuse while under the influence of alcohol levelled against him by his wife.
He lost his cool when the scribe asked him whether he was drunk. According to the complaint lodged by the journalist, he roughly pulled her to make her smell his breath.
“Shweta lodged a complaint against Raja on Saturday night. She alleged that he had assaulted her under the influence of alcohol. We have registered a non-cognisable offence,” said police inspector K Nalawade of Malad police station.
After news of the complaint spread, Raja allegedly misbehaved with mediapersons who gathered outside his house in Malad and verbally abused them, police added.
Shweta stars in the popular TV soap Kasauti Zindagi Kay. She also appeared in the dance show Nach Baliye 2 with Raja. The duo has a daughter.
