MYSORE: The Cultural Capital of Karnataka and heritage city will host a four day non-stop festival of art, culture and entertainment 'Mysooru Utsava' from July 26.
  
Talking to newspersons here last night Mysooru Samskruthika  Kala Parishat district incharge and organiser of the festival and State Cooperative Minister G T Deve Gowda, who is spearheading the festival said the event would be conducted on the lines of Bangalore Habba held recently. The four-day event would highlight the cultural heritage of the Mysore city, he added.
 
Gowda said about Rs 2.5 crore would be the estimated cost for the event and the same would be raised through sponsors.
  
The Convenor of the event Deepak Thimmaiah said Mysore Palace will host the inauguration on July 26. More then 1000 artists would take out a folk dance procession from Lalitha Mahal Palace grounds to the city, he added.

Thimmaiah said the events would include, Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Kuchupudi, Odissi, Tanjore and Kashmiri dances, besides a film festival on the late matinee idol Rajkumar on July 26 and 27.
  
The events would also include a food and humour festival, coinciding with a musical night by well known playback singers.
