HCL to set up 200 stores in two years

TIRUCHIRAPPALLI: HCL Infosystems Ltd, an information enabling and integration company, on Thursday said it is planning to set up around 200 stores that will sell digital products in the next two years.

The ‘Digilife Stores’ would come up in metros, state capitals and tier-II cities. The head of HCL Infosystem, M Ravi Sankar said there were 38 retail outlets of which four were company-operated and the rest franchisees.

He said each centre was expected to do a business of about Rs 15-20 lakh. The stores would offer digital products, including cameras, music players, computers, gaming consoles and printing and office automation solutions of brands like HCL, Apple, Canon, Toshiba and Casio. HCL was maintaining 360 service points across the country.

It has already entered into tie-ups with financial institutions like Bajaj Auto Finance, ICICI Bank and Shriram Group for credit loan facilities.
