Cheney says Wolfowitz should stay

SHANNON: US Vice President Dick Cheney said on Monday that embattled World Bank president Paul Wolfowitz, who faces demands to step down over nepotism allegations, should keep his job.   

Asked during an interview in Jordan whether Wolfowitz should remain, Cheney told Fox News television: "I do".   

"I think Paul is one of the most faithful public servants I've ever known -- I've worked with him a lot over the years -- I think he's a very good president of the World Bank and I hope he will be able to continue," said Cheney, who was wrapping up a week-long visit to the Middle East.
