Busy shooting schedule keeps Salman away from court

JODHPUR: Bollywood actor Salman Khan on Friday failed to appear in a court here for hearing in the black buck poaching case due to a busy film shoot.

Salman's lawyer HM Saraswat requested the District and Sessions Judge GS Surana to exempt the actor from personnel appearance as he is quite busy in shooting.

Surana adjourned the hearing till June 5 and asked Salman to be present for hearing. The court was scheduled to hear the arguments today on an appeal filed by the actor challenging his conviction and imprisonment of five years for killing an endangered black buck while shooting in Rajasthan for the film 'Hum Saath Saath Hain'.

A chief judicial magistrate's court here had sentenced Salman for five years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 25,000 on April 10, last year.
