Chinese national dies in Udaipur hotel

JAIPUR: A Chinese national died on Wednesday night in mysterious circumstances in a swimming pool of a hotel in the popular tourist resort of Udaipur, police said.

The incident took place when Jhanxyoing Xiong, 35, and his wife Mrhyang Quizing, staying in Shivniwas Palace went for swimming in the hotel, police said adding, minutes later, the lady started screaming as her husband fell unconscious.

On being rushed to a local hospital by hotel authorities, he was declared brought dead, Superintendent of Police Udaipur, Govind Gupta said.

The cause of the death can be ascertained only after an autopsy is conducted on Thursday, he said.
