JAIPUR: Two more persons were arrested in connection with the alleged assault on a pastor here, taking the number of those held in the case to seven, police said on Wednesday.
Sheru alias Ravi and Shankar Gurjar were arrested last night, Additional Superintendent of Police (South) Subhash Vishnoi said.
However, it is not yet clear which outfit the seven persons belong to, he replied to a question.
Five persons were earlier arrested in connection with the April 29 attack on Walter Masih. They were on Tuesday sent to police remand till May 3 by a local court.
A group of 20 masked youths barged into Masih's house in Nandpuri locality and beat him up with lathis for allegedly trying to convert people to Christianity.
The five persons arrested earlier, Suresh (20), Vimal (27), Pratap Singh (42), Mukesh Singh (20) and Ganesh Singh (25), are from Bhojpura Kachchi Basti area of the city.
