Pamuk in Cannes film festival jury

PARIS: Nobel laureate Turkish novelist Orhan Pamuk will be on the jury at the 60th Cannes Film Festival.

According to a statement by the festival committee, the jury will be headed by British director Stephen Frears this year.

Portuguese female actor Maria de Medeiros, Chinese actor Maggie Cheung and French actor and director Michel Piccoli are among the jury members for the 60th edition of festival.

22 movies will compete in the festival to be held from May 16th to 27th. 21 movies will be screened independently of the competition.
