JAMAICA: Pakistan team members Inzamam-ul-Haq, Younis Khan, assistant coach Mushtaq Ahmed, and operations manager Asad Mustafa have been summoned to Jamaica to assist in the inquest into Bob Woolmer’s death. The inquest will begin on April 23.

Patrick Murphy, the coroner, sent the Pakistan Cricket Board a formal request asking them to facilitate the process, unconfirmed reports suggested. The players and the officials will not be arrested or placed under detention but their presence is requested as witnesses, the reports said.

Bob Woolmer’s body, which is still in Jamaica, will be sent to his wife in South Africa only after the coroner’s office issues a death certificate. PCB officials have, however, denied receiving any request from authorities in Jamaica.

“So far we have received no such request from the Jamaican government or police,” said Ehsan Malik, PCB’s communications and media manager.

On Wednesday, the coroner ruled out the possibility of testimony submission of witnesses through video-conferencing. Pakistan has sent two of its  officers to assist in the inquiry.
