Journalists protest vandalising of Star News office

MUMBAI: Over 50 journalists of electronic media on Tuesday protested the attack on Star News television channel's office by the activists of a lesser-known Hindu organisation on Monday.

Sloganeering and wielding placards, the protesters at south Mambai's Azad Maidan said media professionals across news channels stand united against the attack and demanded action against the Hindu Rashtriya Sena (HRS) activists who
vandalised the Mahalaxmi office of the channel.

"We want the head of Hindu Rashtriya Sena arrested soon. We also call for the reinstatement of a committee set up by the home department to look into such attacks on the media," Television Journalists Association office bearer Deepak
Bhatuse said.

A group of HRS activists vandalised the Star News office on Monday protesting the coverage given to an incident of inter-community marriage by the channel.
