It’s not just the public that’s fired up about the upcoming Aishwarya Rai-Abhishek Bachchan wedding. As D-Day approaches, the lucky few friends and family who’ve been invited are all charged to be a part of what is touted as the Bollywood wedding of the year.

Says Ritu Nanda, “I’m definitely excited about Abhishek’s wedding like I would be about any wedding in the family.” Raj Kapoor’s daughter is not only a close friend of the Bachchans, but is also Shweta (Amitabh’s daughter) Bachchan’s mother-in-law.

Her niece, actor Karisma Kapoor was engaged to AB’s baby before they suddenly broke it off under mysterious circumstances.

While wishing the couple the best in life, she says, “Abhishek has made the right choice.” Ask her if Ash was the best girl for Abhi, and she says with a smile, “Marriages are made in heaven.”

Besides the wedding, though, Nanda is busy with her art centre Rimari India, which provides customised art-related services to its clients through offices spread over major cities in India. This niche venture is now debuting in Pune, leasing space at Ishanya – a one-stop design centre.

“Being a daughter of an artiste, I realised how difficult it was for artists to sell their art. And I definitely don’t believe only expensive art is good art, which is why we’ve become the window for unknown talent,” she says.

In spite of being a successful insurance advisor (she is in the Guinness Book of Records for selling 17,000 pension policies in a single day!), Nanda says she is totally involved in the day to day running of Rimari and is loving every minute of working with her daughter Natasha on this long term project.

“My daughter Natasha is a part of everything I do. For both of us, this is an interesting way of learning more about this field,” she ends.
