The actor finds Smriti Z Iraani’s production house better organised than Ekta Kapoor’s.

Actor Sanjit Bedi has decided to move out of Balaji. After acting in shows ‘Kasautii Zindagii Kay’,  ‘Kahanii Ghar Ghar Kii’ (both on Star Plus) and ‘Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka’  in the recent months, the actor wants to move on. Reason? “I am looking for better work,” he says.

So, didn’t Balaji give him the opportunity to do good work? “Well, they have been very nice to me. They have taken very good care of me on the sets. They have paid me well and paid me on time. But unfortunately, all Balaji serials appear similar. Even the sets are same,” exclaims Sanjit who will continue doing ‘Kasautii…’ until it takes a generation leap.

He also admitted opting out of Balaji’s soon to be launched ‘Kasturi…’ (Star Plus) where he was to play the lead role. He shares, “I’ve decided to move on. Now I want to do good roles. I am paying special attention to who will be at the helm of affairs. I feel the creative team needs to be strong and the director needs to be given a freehand for a serial to do well.”

He continues, “I particularly realised this while shooting for ‘Thodi Si Zameen Thoda Sa Aasman’  (Star Plus, produced jointly by Smriti Z Iraani and Applause Entertainment). The director, Santram Verma, has been given full freedom to execute the scenes his way. The result shows on the screen. After the show ‘Sanjeevani’, it’s here that I feel that the director is the captain of the ship.”

Sanjit continues, “Moreover, there is discipline on the sets of ‘Thodi Si…’. All actors come on time; the script is given to us as soon as we reach the sets. We sit together and the entire scene is  discussed. There is such perfect synchronization that we often complete our scenes in one take. We also maintain a bank of episodes.” He elaborates, “Smriti’s production house is definitely one of the better production houses I’ve  worked with. They care for the quality of work they produce in terms of creativity, technicality and story.”
