RAIPUR: Armed with a arrest warrant, police on Sunday night went to a guest house at Gandai, about 140km from here, to nab former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Ajit Jogi in connection with the murder of NCP leader Ram Avatar Jaggi.

However, Jogi complained of chest pain and was put on oxygen at the guest house.

Police sources said a team of policemen led by Raipur SSP D S Maravi headed for Rajnandgaon town, 70km from here, and met Jogi on the way and conveyed to him about the warrant.

They said Jogi told the police to take him to a government guest house at Gandai, 140km from Raipur, and on reaching there he complained of illness.

The arrest warrant was issued by the court of Raipur's Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Satyabhama Ajay Dubey on March 16 on a complaint by Jaggi's son Satish.

Ajit Jogi's son Amit is also an accused in the case relating to the murder of Ram Avtar Jaggi, state NCP treasurer, on June 4, 2003.

In view of the illness of Jogi, the police are yet to execute the arrest warrant, police sources said.
