NEW DELHI: A 30-member women delegation from the US is here to explore business opportunities and to build long-term economic and social ties with their Indian counterparts.

Telecommunications, information technology, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, food processing, natural products and organic food are the key sectors where immense scope exists to boost the bilateral business and professional relations particularly in the SME sector.

"God willing, after our 10 day long visit to India, concrete things will come, but our main objective is to initiate one-to-one interaction and an understanding among the women entrepreneurs of both the countries with a focus on the small and medium enterprises," Verplanck said.

The delegation comprise businesswomen and professionals from the areas like health, NGOs, art and culture, radio-television, advertising, law, telecommunications, education and others.

The visit is being coordinated by the Ficci Ladies Organisation (FLO).
