Madhup Kumar Tewari, DCP security of the Delhi Police, will be with the Indian team during the first 30 days of the tournament.

MUMBAI: A security liaison officer has been appointed for the Indian team that will be also be protected by 16 National Security Guards (NSG) or Black Cat commandos during the World Cup in the Carribean.
The NSG have been allocated to protect teams and venues during the World Cup and the West Indies Cricket Board will work-out the nitty-gritties of where they will be deployed.
Madhup Kumar Tewari, DCP security of the Delhi Police, will be with the Indian team during the first 30 days of the tournament. He will subsequently be replaced by an official of the Intelligence Bureau.
Tewari will leave for the West Indies on Wednesday and will co-ordinate and arrange the required security for Rahul Dravid’s team during travel for net practice and matches during the World Cup, a Board of Control for Cricket in India release said.
