International Dental Congress to be held in Mumbai

A three-day India-International Dental Congress will be held from February 23 at the Nehru Science Centre here. Over 750 participants have registered for the largest Congress in the history of the Nehru Science Centre.

MUMBAI: A three-day India-International Dental Congress will be held from February 23 at the Nehru Science Centre here. Over 750 participants have registered for the largest Congress in the history of the Nehru Science Centre.
 
IIDC is brought to India by its President, Dr Ratnadeep Patil, a Mumbai-based dentist involved in conducting dental education programmes since 1997 and lectures in India and overseas. He is well known in Smile Designing, Practice Management and Implant Dentistry, apart from having authored several books on the subjects.
 
India tops the world in the number of gum diseases. Every nine persons out of 10 have gum-related problems and four in 10 have dental-related problems.
 
As a apart of addressing the issue, the Congress plans to introduce a second layer of trained dental personnel (para-dental) in villages and smaller towns.  
 
This is the first attempt by the dental fraternity to have pre-Congress courses that will enhance knowledge from world experts. 
 
Top dentists from the United States, UK, Europe, the Gulf and Asia will participate as students for the pre-Congress courses and attend the seminar.
