LONDON: Jazz vocalist Norah Jones' 'Not Too Late' had the honour on Sunday of becoming the 800th album to take the number one position since the charts began in 1956.

Jones held off The Klaxons debut album 'Myths of the Near Future', which along with 'Not Too Late' was one of five new entries in the album charts top 10, the Official UK Charts Company said.

Frank Sinatra's 'Songs for Swinging Lovers' was the first album to ever grace the top spot just over fifty years ago, while The Beatles are the group with the most number one albums (15).

The album chart's other new entries were Jamie T's 'Panic Prevention' at four, 'Overtones' by Just Jack in sixth and Madonna's 'The Confessions Tour' at seven.

In the singles chart, Beirut-born Londoner Mika held onto the number one position for a third week with 'Grace Kelly'.

'This Ain't a Scene, It's An Arms Race' by Chicago punk band Fall Out Boy, rose four places to number two as London rapper Just Jack's 'Starz In Their Eyes' slipped to number three.

In a top 10 with no new entries Bloc Party's 'The Prayer' made a strong showing -- climbing from 13 to four -- while Mason and 'Exceeder' slipped two places to fifth.

Teenage US singer JoJo was sixth with 'Too Little Too Late', while The View's single 'Same Jeans' was down two at number seven.

The Klaxons' single 'Golden Skans' dropped a place to eight, rapper Akon featuring Eminem with 'I Wanna Love You' was at nine, while 'How to Save a Life' by Fray closed out the top 10.
