LONDON: Despite protestations by Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty that there was no overt racism in the bullying she faced in the Celebrity Big Brother house, the police on Thursday night questioned one of Shilpa’s housemates as fresh allegations of racist abuse emerged.

Detectives said they were examining a note handed in anonymously by someone in Channel 4 which admitted that racist remarks had been recorded on unseen footage.

Notes allegedly scrawled on the back of a production running order said “some dodgy clips do exist. We are f***ed”. The fresh allegations claim that a housemate did call Shilpa a ‘f***ing Paki’ and sang a rhyme, “This house used to be so happy until that f***ing Paki”.

Disgraced beauty queen Danielle Lloyd was the first housemate to be questioned by the police and spent more than three hours with detectives at her solicitor’s office in central London.

Six other housemates are also expected to be grilled by the police. While the police did not give their names they are bound to be Jade Goody, her boyfriend Jack Tweedy, mother Jackiey Budden and Jo O’Meara who are all accused of racist bullying.

Jade has taken refuge at the celebrity Priory rehab clinic to shake off depression. Her agent John Noel told Broadcast magazine that Jade’s career had hit rock bottom and she had an uphill battle to save her multi-million pound career.

Jade has managed to make £8 million in the last four years when she first went into Big Brother as a dental nurse and emerged a celebrity.

Her trip to India, for which is she is still awaiting a visa, is a planned PR exercise to save her career. “The next phase is to talk to the Indian people. The idea is to see a government official, do a press call and come back,” said Noel.
