Assault on Nithari accuses: Lawyers deny attack charges

GHAZIABAD: The bar council of Ghaziabad has condemned the attack on Moninder Singh Pandher, but has said that no lawyer was involved in manhandling of the accused. “No lawyer was involved in the incident. They were protecting the accused,” President of Bar Council, Nahar Singh Yadav told a TV channel.

The incident had occurred when the Nithari accused and his accomplice Surinder were brought to court a few days ago. Proper security arrangements were not made and no senior policemen were present when the court was vandalised, no attempt was made to call in reinforcements.

Immediately after, an FIR was registered against six lawyers including Ajay Veer Singh, Naresh Chaudhary, Ram Nath Tyagi, Ravinder Singh, Babli and Narender along with 300 others.

But even three days after the incident the police is yet to make any arrests in the case. The CBI, investigating the case, had earlier expressed concern over the security of the two accused.
