Party bans Subhas from contesting CAB election

KOLKATA: The CPI (M) on Thursday banned its senior leader and state Sports Minister Subhas Chakraborty from contesting the election to the president's post in the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB).

"Our party and the state government are not connected with the CAB President's election," the CPI (M) said in a two-line statement at the end of its state secretariat meeting.

It said that the party has asked Chakraborty not to enter the contest.
