NOIDA: Fifteen out of the 17 skeletons recovered near Moninder Singh Pandher's house, where children were murdered after being sexually abused, have been identified.

Ten bodies were identified by one of the co-accused, Surendra Koli, when he was confronted with photographs of missing persons of Nithari village, during interrogation, Superintendent of Police (Noida) Soumitra Yadav said.

Five other bodies were identified by the parents and relatives of the missing children after clothes and slippers recovered from Moninder's place were shown to them. The remaining two are yet to be identified, he added.

Meanwhile, security has been stepped up in the area, which witnessed violence during the last two days when angry residents tried to storm Moninder's house.

More barricades have been placed and extra force deployed on the streets as senior officials of the Uttar Pradesh government are scheduled to visit the area.

A senior official said the digging operation in search of more body parts has been stopped and cleaning of debris is now underway.

Parents and relatives of persons, specially children, who have gone missing, are reaching the site, from places located as far as Faridabad and Ghaziabad, with the hope to find some clue regarding their disappearance.

The grisly killings came to light when police recovered skulls and body parts last Friday from a ditch behind Pandher's house in Sector 31, Noida. Moninder and his domestic help Surendra were arrested the same day for allegedly kidnapping and murdering over 30 children after sexually abusing them.
